During my working years I was much too busy getting daughters married, selling a home in favor of a condo, and planning future vacations to worry about retirement health benefits.  Besides, how hard could it be? Within six months of my retirement date I thought I might take a look at choosing a Medicare provider and went online.  I was stunned at what I didn’t know.  There were entire websites tossing around unfamiliar terms like palmetto medicare, Plan B, supplements, and comprehensive coverage.  After a crash course in Medicare 101, I was familiar enough with coverages, providers, and even recent laws, to choose my provider.  Not only do I now have health coverage, but I have become the “go-to” source for Medicare information among my retired friends.
