Only specific symptoms of estrogen deficiency will be corrected and despite steroid therapy women will eventually die from aging effects.

There are other aspects of menopausal symptoms that should be mentioned.

(1) Since there is not yet a consensus of medical opinion, your own physician acting in good faith, may not advise estrogen therapy.

(2) There are occasional minor side effects encountered by certain women which to them are worse than the increased sense of well-being.

(3) Lastly, how many women will accept this concept which involves frequent physical examinations? Only 40 per cent of women are willing to prevent cervical cancer by a pelvic examination including a Papanicolaou smear.
