I was watching a home improvement show and saw them placing solar tubes in a home as part of a renovation. I thought it was a fantastic idea. The best part of it for us was that they don’t require any electrical hook ups. My husband can do just about any type of construction, but can’t do electrical. These tubes, unlike conventional skylights are protected by a clear dome which means no trouble with rain. Solar tubes collect and reflect sunlight down through a diffuser thats placed on the ceiling. They come in many different sizes and are very easy to install in existing homes.
