The Digital Transition is the slow transition from analog to digital TV by television stations within the United States.  Over the past 10 years full power TV stations in the USA have slowly been preparing for the eventual switch to digital only TV.  This transition has costed them millions of dollars and time but will be well worth it in the end. The switch to digital will help TV stations make more money and also give consumers a better television viewing experience.  The digital transition will also cause problems for consumers with analog TVs.  With a TV converter box consumers will find that their TVs do not work after February 16th, 2009.
