Call me an old man, but I remember a simpler time and place: a time in which people didn’t use cell phones or PDAs and the laptop and the internet itself were both too incredible envision.  At that time, no one knew what an app or an IPod was let alone what flashpacking or live blogging would come to mean and represent.  And frankly, as interesting and useful as I find modern technology I long for that gentler time where riding your bike or going fishing with your neighborhood pals was all the chatting or networking you needed to do.  The nice thing though, is that I can turn my cell phone off or leave it back at the house, hop into my car and drive twenty minutes outside of the city to my favorite wooded trail or lakeside locale and there for a minute or two – however fleeting and brief – I can close my eyes and imagine that time, long ago but not forgotten.
